It appears former governor-to-be Chris Christie could appoint himself temporary replacement for senator Bob Menedez if he wanted to...but DOES he want to?

so it wouldn't be long term for anyone who was put in if Menendez is convicted, and if there is an appeal it would also delay the replacement.
