Between Kaepernick and brain rot, boycott the NFL

This is the first year that I can honestly say that I’m not excited about the upcoming NFL season. I won’t watch it, support it or pay any attention to it. It’s not that I lost interest in the sport. I love football. But the NFL has been going above and beyond to show how racist they are as an organization. As if the dearth of minority owners and small number of black coaches — not to mention having a team called the Redskins — isn’t bad enough, Colin Kaepernick still doesn’t have a job.

He didn’t murder dogs like Michael Vick, who was able to be reinstated and has also criticized Kaepernick by saying “first thing we’ve got to get Colin to do is cut his hair.” Kap’s hair doesn’t matter; he has a better rating (QBR) than 20 starting quarterbacks currently preparing for the 2017-2018 season. Kaepernick was also never involved in a murder like Ray Lewis, who also criticized him by hopping on Undisputed and saying that he disagreed with Kap’s silent, peaceful protest. Kaepernick stood up against our racist law enforcement and criminal justice systems by taking a knee during the National Anthem — along with donating a million dollars to various charities — and he’s paying the ultimate price.

So the Miami Dolphins decides to take Jay Cutler out of retirement rather than sign Kaepernick. Unfortunately I already gave up my season tickets, so I can't do it in protest, but I'm done with the Dolphins.

Go Heat!

In how he reads the field and it's hard to have a backup quarterback that plays very differently than the regular quarterback. Robert Griffin and Tim Tebow don't have NFL jobs either.

If it was all about his protest, why do so many other players who also protested have jobs?

I think 45 black balled him with his wealthy owner friends.
He knows and hob-nobs with many of the owners and was looking to buy a team. He made Kapernick a punchline at his rallies and is an asshole who enjoys destroying people.

because a lot of them are buddies with Trump.
The Miami job was not a stretch for them to hire Cutler.

However, there are a lot of teams that could use him.
They would rather have domestic violence perps, DUIs, and other crimes on their teams than Kap.

He has gotten Dixie-Chicked. He stood up for something and did it in a non-disruptive way. People went apeshit.

BTW the military does not own the flag. It represents the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and also other non-military heroes. One of the RIGHTS, is the right to peaceful protest.

The NFL has zero shame and would sign OJ if he could still play.

I felt it was best for the team that the Dolphins did not hire Colin Kaepernick. I thought his hire might cause locker room problems in that Kiko Alonso is the son of a Cuban refugee. I was not sure Alonso would be able to get along with Kaepernick. In addition, Gloria Estefan is a minority owner of the team. Maybe she did not have a say in who the team hired, but I thought she would likely have a problem with Kaepernick being on the team in that she is also a Cuban refugee, who as far as I know is anti-Castro. Finally, I thought the fan base would not accept Kaepernick since Miami seems to be a very anti-Castro city and Kaepernick wore what could be described as a pro-Castro shirt last season.

I thought he starting taking a knee as a way to prevent the 49ers from benching him. If they had benched him his supporters would have said the 49ers were benching him because of his activism and not due to his poor play.

Others have said that he starting taking a knee to force the 49ers to trade, or release him. Those people claim Kaepernick was trying to make such a scene that the 49ers would just let him go. They say that is why after Kaepernick was released from the 49ers he stated that he would start standing for the national anthem again.

and drug abuse. Most get hooked because of severe chronic pain. The NFL pretty much abandons them.

I realized if my grandson wanted to play I would beg him not to...even bribe him not to.

So if I would be horrified if a family member played, how could I watch others play and destroy their bodies?

So I quit watching football all together.

Here's a few links that aren't just about his afro and his silent protest:

Fri Aug 11, 2017, 11:22 PM

Let him live his life as an activist. My Seahawks took advantage of his inability to read defenses countless times to destroy the 9ers. To defeat Kaep, all your D has to do is stop his first read. He usually panic throws to the second read or tries to run. He's far too predictable a QB to succeed in this league, which is why his performances got worse the longer he was in San Francisco. He could put up numbers against bad teams, which padded his stats a bit, but he was hopeless against good defenses. Once you saw his thought process three or four times, it became easy for good teams to beat him.

Because for the first time in over a decade, my team The Raiders are true contenders...but at the same time around the NFL, there are so many bad issues like how Kapernick is being mistreated, the CTE studies, team owners rick rolling the fans at every turn...and now the Cowboys have Zeke suspended for 6 games due to his domestic violence problems I'm not trying to apologize for him, he had no business harming a woman period (unless he was in the DMZ and some North Korean female soldier shot at him), and I'm deeply upset and disappointed in him.
