In some sneaky way, he will zap him. I can't stand McConnell but he is not Trump's employee.
He is also ruthless and he will get even.
I hope they destroy each other.

(297,084 posts)The amount of popcorn needed for this administration is unhealthy particularly because I want butter on mine.

(24,734 posts)If you love butter on popcorn, and who doesn't? I just discovered organic butter flavored coconut oil at Costco this week. Tastes like heaven and doesn't have the nasty sat fat of butter! My current addiction is popcorn with a little drizzle of that butter ccnut oil, chopped fresh rosemary and sea salt. Thanks for the thread! I needed the laugh.

(6,124 posts)I like tRump even less. Since McConnell has been around the block in DC a few more times than tRump, he probably knows just a wee bit more about how things work there. And I suspect he is not too happy to be treated like an underling by tRump. So as this all plays out, I expect McConnell to have a few surprises up his sleeve that tRump will never expect or see coming. Maybe with luck, we'll all get a ring side seat as the match begins.

Leader Mitch McConnell's defense as the Kentucky lawmaker's relationship with President Donald Trump continues to deteriorate.
Sen. John Cornyn, the second-highest ranking Republican in the Senate, voiced support for McConnell on Twitter Friday, saying that "no one is more qualified" than the Senate majority leader to advance the President's legislative agenda.
"Passing POTUS's legislative agenda requires a team effort. No one is more qualified than Mitch McConnell to lead Senate in that effort," Cornyn tweeted.
"As Benjamin Franklin said: we can hang together or hang separately," the Texas Republican added in a separate tweet.

(22,491 posts)Presidents don't tell Senators to do anything...period...end of story. Particularly Senate majority leaders. I bet McTurtle told 45 to shove his agenda where the sun never shines, and rightly so.

(60,332 posts)I don't see an impeachment in the imminent future, but if it comes to that, Trump had better hope that Pence leaves office before he does, because McTurtle will "tragically" not find the support in the Senate to vote for acquittal after this.
Well, MAYBE if a 3000 square foot luxuriously furnished apartment with a $12.50 per year lifetime lease on the 50th floor of the Trump Tower in Manhattan should open up, then McTurtle might be more forgiving..............
