(18,889 posts)you should be proud to have your picture plastered all of the Internet in support of it, right? Of course there may be consequences but that's just the price of being a good advocate. How much you want to bet they are going to get all whiney about it and gripe about how that's not fair and people are picking on them.

(9,527 posts)A guy was already falsely accused in this situation. We shouldn't be encouraging this sort of shit. It's far too easy to name the wrong person. If you'd like more examples, look at Kobach's efforts to get voters thrown off the rolls for having the same first/last name and birth date as somebody else. This sort of garbage should be discouraged. Reid is way off base in supporting this.

100 accuracy or don't post. Republicans don't mind putting innocent people in jail or even executing them if they find it politically expedient to have a guilty party in their slimy little hands. I don't want us to play that game, even at the blog level.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
