I ran across a short version on Twitter but wanted to see the rest so hunted it down. I wish we could get something like this played on our current airwaves, perhaps updated.
"In this anti-fascist film produced by US Military in the wake of WWII, the producers deconstruct the politically motivated social engineering of Germany by the Nazi regime."

Ageless wisdom.
Who knew the War Department could do such work?

(24,259 posts)POV. The War Department sometimes recruited some the better Hollywood directors and actors too. For instance Frank Cappra directed quite a few and Jimmy Stewart was in one (I think he was in the AF during WWII).
It's been quite a few years since I learned the above so I did a quick Google to confirm that my memories were correct and it wasn't as much as I had thought but impressive nonetheless I think.

I was a bit surprised to find in my search that NPR did a rather recent report about Hollywood helping the war effort back then.

While I enjoy the history aspect of the Don't Be A Sucker film, I truly wish with all my heart that it wasn't still so darn pertinent because apparently we didn't learn well enough before.

(24,259 posts)Has gone rather viral. I ran across it when looking to verify old memories of mine on these type films (posted as a reply above).
They've written a well done article (with the short clip, the whole thing and links) on it if interested in reading and/or sharing it:

IMO this film needs to go as viral as possible. People will tend to watch it more out of curiosity because it's a cool old clip but hopefully it will serve to jolt a few more into understanding that we're seeing frighteningly similar crap again and we ALL must take a firm stand against it... no matter how high up in power it is found.
