Everything is war. Me say war.
That until the're no longer 1st class and 2nd class citizens of any nation...
Until the color of a man's skin is of
no more significa...nce than the color of his eyes, me say war. That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race me say war!

(1,660 posts)1. That is bob marley using his speech. Haile selassie I never said "me say war".
I know it seems like a small thing. But it irks me when people quote the marley song war and just attribute it to selassie. Marley took many of selassie's words verbatim but marley also inserted his own speaking style when he performed the song.
I actually posted both on the anniversary of Selassie's UN speech recently

(13,390 posts)2. It is essential to remember that
And to contextualize it in the understanding that that is and always has been the default practice in the US. Even if someone rejects the philosophy, to be a white US citizen is to be superior to our fellow non-white citizens.
The white nationalists aren't opposing philosophy so much as practice.

we all want it to be true, but those who wish to divide and conquer will find a reason.
