(2,340 posts)but then again I don't know what the credible threat is. It would be helpful if they were more specific.

(25,183 posts)Right now, the alt right cretins are scurrying back under the rocks they crawled out from under. They know that they got some seriously bad press this weekend.
My guess is, the city does not want a vigil that they fear could turn into a violent protest, with destruction of storefronts, etc. They've already exhausted this month's (if not this year's) overtime budget for the cops.

(19,260 posts)these cowards are only "strong" when they're in unified groups under someone's direction. Otherwise they'd be running around, bumping into each other.
These cowards scattered when the lights came on, like a bunch of cockroaches in the night. There might be small groups of three or four, but for the most part they're scattered over the rotting, fetid garbage heap from which they came.
We all NEEDED a group hug tonight, a show of unity against these festering, pus laden, scab ridden, ignorant LOSERS who MURDERED one young woman and two Police Officers. Those "people" are cowards, and wouldn't attack unless they had the others seriously outnumbered and were carrying weapons, for their "protection".

(1,900 posts)can they be that hard to find? Check the Red Roof Inn or look for a bunch of vans down by the river and haul their asses in even if it's for camping without a permit. ID these SOBs and continue to expose their faces and names to the world.

(19,260 posts)with the chalk outlines outside every door. Right, blah blah blah? (one of they greatest "Arrested Development" play on words, ever!)

(19,260 posts)If anything was ever NECESSARY, it was a gathering of the tribes tonight. We must show those cowards that they haven't won anything, that, in fact, they're LOSING!

(7,220 posts)Wouldn't put it past them, especially after one of their leaders got tackled today by counterprotesters.
I'm thinking a bomb threat would make it really hard to avoid calling them terrorists though.

My overly optimistic, UVa alumnus son wants to take his g.f. down to visit Charlottesville / UVa campus next weekend. I think it's a bit too soon, especially given the fact they are a mixed-race couple. Am I being silly?
Any opinions here?
