Twitter is aflame with people identifying the racists, and then reporting the results, which have
resulted in lost, jobs, lost Twitter accounts, etc.
Been glorious to see.

Or they might be safe now going with a "gov".

(544 posts)It's usually a tad more pricey to get the .com domain name you want, but not always. Other than the domain suffix, it's no different registering a different domain and making the website.

(26,757 posts)It isn't unreasonable to assume that (in general), a COMmercial (i.e., for-profit corporation) is more reliable than an ORGanization (i.e., presumably non-profit).
In reality of course... .net, .com, and .org are all unrestricted domains. Other parts of the world make such a distinction (e.g., .org.in must be a nonprofit)... but not here.

(9,090 posts)that have been making this racism acceptable and need to be shamed.
all advertisers on all republican radio stations need to be emailed and thanked for making racism acceptable. they need to be protested and the universities and pro sports teams broadcasting on their stations need to pull out and look elsewhere.
today i heard the local blowhard on the loudest station in NM say "there's BLM and people calling cops 'pigs', what do they expect?"
some version of that kind of excusing and equivalency will get blasted from 1500 radio stations tomorrow, because they're the ones that have been telling all these nazis that thanks to liberals the real racism is aimed at white men now.

More and more I am realizing that what many white men are so inflamed about is the reality of losing their "white male privilege". THAT's what they're really so pissed about.
Whenever they complain about the "PC police", feminism, losing their "heritage" (ha), what they really mean is "can't say N-word anymore, can't harass women anymore, don't get the job automatically anymore...". Then they see non-white, non-males with educations and better jobs than them (horror!), and are literally marching with weapons and torches over the fact that THEIR free ride is over. You know, because that's easier than actually working harder and earning it. They much prefer the "old fashioned way", which is just showing up.
Boo fucking hoo assholes, it's called equality (and it's coming whether you like it or not). Your legacy of exerting white privilege over the rest of us is NEVER COMING BACK.

(50,993 posts)I'd only disagree with you when you say, "it's called equality." It is nothing like equality. Women and people of color are STILL less advantaged than white men. White men are simply a little less able than they used to be to oppress everyone around them.
flibbitygiblets
(7,220 posts)That was actually what I was trying to say. What most of us are striving for is equality, yet those with privilege see that in terms of "losing something".

(23,337 posts)Not all big game hunters are deplorable pukes. We've owned a taxidermy shop for 29 years and 99% of our clientele hunt what is considered big game - elk, deer, moose, etc. The same 99% are wonderful people who eat what they kill and are die hard conservationists. I don't know what kind of guy Bob Parsons is - maybe he's a good person - but I agree that Go Daddy commercials are very sexist.

(23,337 posts)No reason that I can see for killing an elephant - ever. I just had to point out that hunters aren't awful people as a rule.
TexasBushwhacker
(20,210 posts)But I know that deer, for example, must be hunted or many would starve. Wild pigs need to be hunted MORE. Personally, I have a problem with wolves and cougars being hunted in order to keep the deer and elk population bigger for hunters, but that's just me.
MontanaMama
(23,337 posts)I do have issues with folks that claim to be "anti-hunting" and have no problem going to the store and buying meat. The disconnect is alarming to me. Factory farming is far more cruel than fair chase hunting. I won't buy meat in the grocery store for that reason. I was a vegetarian before I married my spouse who was a life long hunter. I cook and enjoy all the bounty he brings home - it is wonderful, healthy fare and I know it was ethically harvested.
Predator hunting in Montana is a mixed bag. I abhor the wolf haters and their ilk. What they claim they despise about wolves is true about them - no big surprise there. I don't care for lion hunting at all but we do have lots of them in and around our city. Last spring one was stalking kids at the school and it was taken out. Juvenile lions typically return when they are darted and moved.
Our neighborhood school has to keep the dumpsters in bear proof cages. I'll have bears in and out of my yard from now till November and we live in a "normal" neighborhood. It's life in Montana.
