There's a story circulating on a right-wing website that parks officials are unwilling to remove Confederate statues from battle sites. That's one of the few (perhaps only) places where I would be comfortable with statues existing: battle sites and museums, not in public squares or in front of legislative buildings as though they should be admired.

two separate things. Putting something on a pedestal vs. knowing it existed. No statues to Hitler are needed to recall he existed and what he did. Likewise the Confederates.
