He got fired during the campaign. Don't remember exactly what he did, probably some racist shit. He then ran in the Repubs primary for Gov. ( we have off year elections) and barely lost to Gillespie- 4,600 votes. He is now running to get the nomination to run against Kaine in 2018.

On edit - his primary issue during the primary was.....wait for it...Confederate monuments. He's also stood beside Kessler more than once.
