I wish more people would speak up when it doesn't directly effect them or someone they know. Too many remain silent until they experience it personally. I remember Dick Cheney stopped being anti-gay only when his daughter "came out". You CAN believe that justice and equality applies to everyone and all issues and aspects of life all of the time.

Detlefsen should have added in her post that 45's grandfather left Germany and wasn't allowed to return when he tried to years later because he was a draft dodger. He left home secretly in the middle of the night with a note to his mother.
