Chris is very smart but he is totally inept when it comes to interviewing right wingers. He acts as if he is almost sorry to have to interrupt and ends up being run over every single time.

for similar reasons as the OP. Too weak in arguments and also too much devil's advocate/giving rethugs the benefit of doubt.

that withheld funding for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Again part I saw, he was saying that the way Trump was approaching this was not the way he would.

Hayes did have a problem getting Christie to admit climate change might be fueling all these big storm in the past 15 years of so. Christie stuck to saying we need to require buildings to be built higher to withstand floods and similar stuff.

It was not a Trump love fest, the part I saw. Although, it wasn't the kind of bashing Trump deserves.

and they just shout them, no matter how the anchor tries to direct the narrative or get a straight answer. It's effective, but by now, Chris Hayes should know to get a list of those talking points ahead of time and be quick to denounce them as such, and to have responses ready.

And actually I thought Christie came off a lot more moderately than he usually does and seemed to be quite defensive throughout the interview. The best moment was when Christie said of Trump, "I've known him for 15 years and he doesn't have a racist bone in his body". Kudos to Chris for not bursting out laughing...

and when Christie said "Obama said you could keep your doctor", Chris called him on his "whatabout-ism" and said there's a fundamental difference in terms of volume and intent. Christie is a lawyer, so he's great at pivoting and equivocating but Chris did a good job of holding his feet to the fire I thought.

that he won't go for the jugular if they agree to keep coming on his show. I'm not a fan of Chris Hayes' show, unless Joy is standing in. You ever wonder why Republican lawmakers line up to talk to him, but avoid Rachel & Joy like the plague?

If the hosts keep going for the jugular then those guests won't be coming on. I'd rather see the guests be interviewed like Chris does and we can at least hear what they are up to. I have my complaints about Chris (actually just one, he talks too fast) but progressives should be more appreciative of what he can do IMO...

And Steve Kornacki as well, they're always WAY too quick to qualify (i.e. weasel-speak). Like "The unsubstantiated Steele dossier" and "No evidence any votes were changed" etc. Not a fan.

I noticed when he first started on MSNBC he had republican on. At first they would label the republican as some business guy, but soon as he opened his mouth you knew that it was a republican.

I turned to the show with Joy hosting and noticed a RedState guy on. WTF? The show ratings is not good.

Bring KO back. Maybe Sam Seder.
