who was/is a decent Repub, more from the old moderate Repub tradition, than the current crop of rightwingers/fascists.

Of course we all remember that Poppy and notorious hatchet-man Lee Atwater used some rough tactics on Dukakis (and Bill even), but politics is cynical and on balance he was a decent president.
