Many of whom I personally love. Great progressives living in a wide variety of areas. Some areas are even pretty progressive in their own right.

What this seems to be is a very weak justification for being heartless and cold.

My heart goes out to them. Each and every one.

Do you honestly think their aren't many many many who feel as you do towards the RW and their policies? Do you think the Latinos there, both naturalized, US citizens and undocumented--don't feel the same? Do the children of Trump-supporters deserve no help, sympathy, empathy?

Suffering is suffering. I'm not going to ask for proof of progressive ideals before I reach out and nor should any of us.

This is wrong and inappropriate. I have a friend with kids down there. No running water.

Love the people - love their food and music - hate their politics.

Their elected officials are assholes.

But they need us now - and I won't abandon them.

Change them with kindness.
