Is the RNC connected to the Russian scandal?

While going over the notes of Paul Manafort from his meeting at the Trump Tower with Don Jr and the Russians, they found a notation about "RNC" and "donations"?? Were the Russians contributing to the RNC? What did it mean?

If that were the case, should we not expect this investigation to end soon? Don't the Republicans have the power to shut it down?

RNC chief of staff resigns amid rash of departures

Sara Armstrong is the sixth staffer to exit in the past month.

Sara Armstrong, the top staffer at the Republican National Committee, is departing, according to three people familiar with the move — the latest in a string of exits from the committee.

Armstrong, the RNC's chief of staff, is exiting to take a senior-level job at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She had been serving in the chief of staff role since early this year after helping to oversee President Donald Trump's inauguration planning.

Richard Walters, the RNC finance director, will serve as interim chief of staff while the committee seeks a permanent replacement. RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel has begun that search.

Armstrong is the sixth staffer to leave the RNC in just over a month. That includes a handful of aides in the committee’s data department who left recently amid a change in departmental leadership. The wave of departures, coming less than a year after the 2016 election, has surprised the tight-knit world of Republican operatives.

5. The top repubs were in on it: Preibus, Ryan, McConnell all had to be aware that Page and

Manafort were Russian plants. Who lets their presidential nominee's campaign be run by someone who hasn't worked in US elections in 20 years, just made millions working for Putin's friends, and offered to work for free?

And about the meeting in Trump Tower, there was another mention of "donations" by the Russians. They were promising information that Clinton's campaign rreceived illegal donations from Ukrainians.
