I'm joining Harry and giving up on muggle newspapers

“1st September 2017. 19 years later. The scar had no pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.”

"Of course, Harry only thought all was well because he had not read a muggle newspaper at all during 2017."

...the ramifications of the muggle/wizard dichotomy from a hard-edged adult perspective. Interesting, although it probably would have had a bad effect on the HP franchise as beloved children's literature.

The wizards had their own Nazis in World War II, just as many many modern U.S. wizards may have voted for Trump.

What kept the wizards united and hidden in the muggle world was their fear of muggles. The muggles had a long history of genocidal behavior against the wizards and were capable of forming alliances with evil and powerful magical, but non-wizard, forces.

For "beloved children's literature" the books have a very hard edged adult perspective.
