I got up early this morning

Last edited Sun Sep 3, 2017, 06:41 AM - Edit history (1)

skinned a chicken, washed some celery, peeled carrots, an onion and some other seasoning and put the pot on the fire to simmer. Four hours later I skimmed off the fat, put the broth in a container and went to visit a friend recovering from chemo. We had a lovely visit as two other friends dropped by.

So I missed all of the taxpayer funded second take of Groper Don the Con's reality show.
I'm betting I had a much better day that those of you who watched that despicable asshole.

how is your friend doing, that is what counts. Trumps Reality TV show was a bust for the most part. Princess Spikee Heels was their with a Green hat lettered Texas, and the Con Job was a huffing and Puffing pushing a 24 pack of water on the back of a pickup truck. Should have had one of Grips handle it,might have messed up his manicure.

Again, hope your friend is feeling better, had both Sister-in-laws go through that crap two years ago last month.

BTW,how was the Chicken and Vegies.

Perfect fall day out side, all holiday weekend.
Blue sky, nice temps, no humidity to complain about, windows open for fresh air,
and hundreds of films to watch on the computer.

Plus, best of all...no intrusions.

I am eternally baffled that anyone would vote for him. I bet that if a chimp ran in the general as a republican, the chimp would get at least 30%, sad, but I am afraid true.

Idaho has a track record of electing ill-suited folks to state and national office with no better qualifications than that "R" after their name. It's a great place to live - if you can accommodate its conservative politics. You could carve an R into a sugar beet and prop it up as a contender. Especially in the 1st district.

Our team packed 4320 meals in two hours.

Got a tweet a few hours ago that the "the 100 millionth meal is packed and ready to ship. Thank YOU".
So proud of the 15,000 volunteers who helped over the last 4 days, including a team from work who proudly wore their bright blue t-shirts and walked through the floor chanting "We're going to fight hunger"...

I took it out of the freezer - I skinned it because the fat is awful in broth and there's less to skim if you tear/cut off the skin.

We used to watch my favorite aunt kill chickens during the July/August holidays where we spent at least a month climbing fruit trees and playing non-stop. Those were the days.
