1. May all sentient beings be from suffering
and the causes and conditions of suffering.
2. May all sentient beings be happy
and have the causes and conditions of suffering.
3. May all sentient beings know the joy
of no more ignorance, delusion, and confusion.
4. May all sentient beings know the equanimity
of no more craving, attachment, and aversion.

If I organized a group of people at a building and we talked out loud to the Tooth Fairy and asked it to intervene on our daily lives, we'd be rounded up, and rightly so.

Politicians making a big deal out of praying in public just validates the myth that this is a Christian nation.

In God we trust? More like in God we conquered.

Turn thee to Matthew 25.31.

The Lord will separate everyone into two groups. He'll put the liberals and atheists on his right, and the Bible Thumpers, Joel Osteen, and Trump on his left.

He will say to the ones on the right, "Welcome to Heaven. You helped people not because you thought there was something in it for you, but because you believed it was the right thing to do."

Then he will say to the ones on the left, "Y'all's going to Hell. The very little you did for anyone, you did because you thought you'd get a great reward. And you were total assholes the rest of the time. Well, this is your reward: It's the Fifth Circle of Hell for all of you."

so is a hypocrite in a different way than Olsteen, who fakes religious interest.

Happily, from what I have read..there are many circles in hell.

12. The circles of hell, according to Dante

First circle: Limbo
Who goes: The unbaptized, and virtuous pagans.
What they do to you: Stick you in a deficient form of Heaven. It is nice there, but with no God the people in Limbo can't aspire to anything greater.

Second circle
Who goes: The lustful
What they do to you: Throw you into a never-ending violent storm.

Third circle:
Who goes: Gluttons
What they do to you: You wallow in a vile, putrid slush produced by an icy rain.

Fourth circle:
Who goes: Hoarders and spendthrifts
What they do to you: The hoarders joust with the spendthrifts. Their weapons are huge weights they push with their chests.

Fifth circle:
Who goes: The wrathful and the sullen
What they do to you: They take these guys to the River Styx, which is a slimy mess. The sullen have to lie on the bottom, and the actively pissed-off have to fight on top of the slime.

Sixth circle:
Who goes: Heretics
What they do to you: Stuff you in a flaming tomb

Seventh circle:
Who goes: The violent
What they do to you: It depends on who you were violent towards.
Violent toward other people: Immersed in a river of flaming, boiling blood
Suicides: You get turned into a tree, which is then eaten by Harpies
Violent toward God, Art and Nature: you all get sent to the Plain of Burning Sand, and from there receive your own special punishment:
Blasphemers get staked out on the sand
Sodomites have to run around in circles
Usurers crouch huddled and weeping

Eighth circle:
Who goes: Donald Trump and anyone else caught committing fraud
What they do to you:
Panderers get lined up and whipped by demons
Flatterers are boiled in diarrhea
People who sell "ecclesiastical favors" - at the time the Inferno was written, the Catholic Church was getting rich selling indulgences - get shoved head-down in a hole in the ground and have fire lick their feet for all time
Sorcerers have to walk backwards for eternity
Corrupt politicians are immersed in a lake of boiling tar
Hypocrites just have to walk around...but they do it dressed in a robe of lead
Thieves are thrown in a pit full of snakes and lizards, who bite them continuously
Counsellors of fraud are hidden from view inside their own tongue of flame
Sowers of Discord get chopped apart by a big demon who has a sword
Liars get stuck in a room where they suffer all sorts of horrid diseases.
(The Eighth Circle is kind of a default choice; since there's something for everyone's ass in this circle they can safely just throw everyone in there and be confident they did right by you.)

Ninth circle:
Who goes: Murderers and traitors
What they do to you: Stick you in a block of ice. The worse you were in life, the deeper you're placed.

The Center of Hell
The only one who's in here is Lucifer. He's buried up to his waist in ice and no one ever goes to him.
