The DACA issue has immense consequences for so many people here.

I have worked with families where one or both parents were brought to this country by THEIR parents when they were very little and are undocumented. They have no life in Mexico - no home, no family, no work - the U.S. is the only home they've ever known. Plus, their children are American citizens. If forced back to Mexico, since their children are not Mexican citizens, their education will not be provided by the Mexican government.

What a mess. What a heartless bastard we have in the Oval Office.

It's why Jeb never won a single state, in spite having the most money behind him in the GOP primaries. The base that nominated and elected Trump wants DACA ended, and Trump knows that.

The time delay of over seven months for this announcement and the six month delay in execution are a way to punt this off to the Congress, and make sure that Trump's base is enraged at them during primary season.

They must be terrified. We'll see if any GOP members have the spine to stand up to Trump, I'm not going to get my hopes up.

And he was put there by 60 million plus, other heartless bastards!

Let's not forget the heartless bastards in Congress, like Ryan, who could have done something to let these people transition!

It's horrific. I know in some cases some families are more like refugees. The states of Guerrero and Michoacan where some of my patients are from are very violent and I have heard some awful stories of what goes on there. I have to say that there should be consideration for humanity and it seems like these days there is not.

I think if there is work for people (and obviously there is), they should be able to come and work, stay, and make a life for themselves. I think for too long, employers have been able to skirt laws by paying workers poorly, by paying them under the table, and by shirking their duty as employers. I've long said, if an employer has hired an undocumented person, the EMPLOYER should be fined and get jail time.

There's a wink and a nod between companies/farms and immigration. The companies want their cheap labor, and they know they're not at risk for treating people like crap. If the dreamers could gain citizenship, they'll continue to be contributing members of society, paying taxes and providing needed services in all industries and professions.

When I ask mothers who have come here and are undocumented why they are here, the answer is almost always, "Because I can feed my children three meals a day." In general, the husband is working on a farm, as a landscaper, or in a restaurant. Their American dream is no different than my great grandparents', who came here from Italy, working as barbers, stonemasons, and laborers.

As each day passes, so help me God, I hate this man even more.

this country. The immigrants and undocumented workers do many of the "shit" jobs that other Americans don't want to do. They pick the fruits and vegetables, they do our lawns, clean our houses, take care of our children, do many of the service industry jobs, etc.

Trump's stupid base seems to think that getting rid of undocumented workers will make salaries go up again. Maybe that will occur, but for damn sure you can expect that all of the end products and services that undocumented workers do today to GO UP - fruits, vegetables, the cost to get your car washed, your lawn mowed, etc.

I am so disgusted by it all. This country is big enough for us all

Trump will use dreamers as hostages to negotiate with congress for his wall and tax breaks. The strategy will fail. It is such a toxic issue for Republicans he will have no leverage at all. As a strategist or negotiator he is a perpetual failure.

just think Mexico, or any other country is gonna so sure come in. What do they need a DNA test? Or a nice tan? Where do they go if no one claims them.

This isn't gonna work.
