Don't forget, a condition of DACA was that you had to identify yourself to USCIS.

Trump's decision doesn't just strip away these kids' legal status and prevent them from receiving certain benefits. It also puts a target squarely on their backs by virtue of the self-identification.

It's hard to imagine how one person can be so horrible on such a consistent basis.

The six-month delay will give Congress a chance to change it. When Republicans demand billions for the wall (and, probably, the repeal of ACA) as the condition for DACA relief, and the Democrats balk, then it will be their fault when Dreamers start getting rounded up.

This, from Betsy Woodruff, of the Daily Beast:

Some imm attys told me in Nov they specifically advised clients AGAINST getting DACA bc they didn't think the US gov deserved that trust

She wrote a warning about this, back last November.

That's almost $400 million that the government made off of these individuals. As sickening as removing DACA is, this is like twisting the knife that they just stuck in their backs. Talk about 'adding insult to injury'!

If they revoke DACA I think it is only right that each of the people that are affected should get their money back - with interest.

The 5th amendment provides a protection agains self-incrimination, but people self-incriminate virtually every moment of day somewhere someplace to police (think traffic tickets).

And the amendment doesn't provide any protection from the government using that voluntary self-incrimination to prosecute.
