Though Trump was largely on top of the catastrophe, regularly tweeting updates and even personally pitching in, in affected areas, it wasnt enough for Scarborough and his friends.
On set, they mocked Trumps efforts to lend a hand as insufficient, citing this Tweet on air. The video shows Trump innocuously loading supplies into a truck.

The specific issue which Morning Joe took exception to appears to have been Trumps decision to hand something to the truck driver through the front window rather than lay it on the flatbed.
Heres your bag of cement, said Scarborough doing an intentional dumb-person voice.
There was laughter.
Thats why you call it a truck, he added.
More laugher then they played the video.
Ok. Bucket? said Mika.
Then there was laughter, and more inaudible dumb person noises.
When Trump finally ended up putting the supplies on the truck flatbed, somebody clapped derisively off camera.
More laughing.
I bet theyre not breaking this down on Fox & Friends, said Scarborough.

(61,690 posts)the idiot making his PR video. He was handing a tall white American Red Cross supplies plastic container to the pickup truck driver, as if he either needed it immediately, or expected him to drive with it in his lap. Of course he had to talk to the driver to make sure that man knew who was loading his truck so he could tell his friends.
It was such a show piece, but trump wasn't going to play the role correctly, even if he actually knew what to do.

(65,225 posts)truck bed to show him where the supplies are supposed to be loaded. I could just see him continuing to shove boxes through the driver's window if the real worker didn't show him where to put them in the truck bed.
Also, notice how he dumps the last box in at an angle, not even flat, and even when he tries to adjust it later, he still doesn't get it right.
What an incompetent yahoo.

(4,483 posts)Two or three perfectly healthy-looking youngish men walk right up to the truck and hand stuff to the president*, who takes the items and either shoves them into the driver's window or haphazardly places them in the bed of the truck. It's so clearly a photo op, and so clearly a fail. And are emergency workers in TX really driving around with three or four items when they have room in the truck for so many more?
Further, the two hits on the truck's side is what rich people do to signal to their driver that they're in the car and ready to go. I know this from watching movies about rich people, and it's offensive even cinematically.
