Yes, they join the US military.

Yes, they very well could be deported now. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the ones still in the service suddenly get dishonorable discharges in the near future and are deported.

Yes, they serve with honor, dedication, and distinction.

I haven't heard about it - but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

And there will be a citizenship ceremony at their Basic Training graduation.

The rule is you must serve one year in peacetime to be eligible, but in time of hostilities that is reduced to one day. So the day they graduate Badic Trainibg they are eligible and can swear in as US citizens unless they elect not to.

Some people do elect not to, for whatever reason, complete the process and become a citizen. In that case they do fall under the same immigration laws as anyone else.

And yes, those serving can now be deported under Trump.

There is an expedited path to citizenship (MAVNI started in 2009 but suspended in 2016 pending new implementation of security guidelines) for serving and they could take advantage of that. (once it opens again for processing)

DACA recipients did/do qualify for MAVNI

However, some are married to non-serving DACA recipients and the spouses don't have the same path, so they can be deported.

The PIP (Bush initiative expanded under Obama) program is in question now. That program allowed the DACA spouses of military members to remain.

It's in question because the DHS memo on enforcement of immigration rules did not include PIP by name, only DACA and DAPA, and said all other conflicting programs/memorandums were rescinded. And that could include PIP.

DACA - Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
DAPA - Deferred Action for Parents of Americans
MAVNI - Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest
PIP - Parole in Place
