We must find a way to start massive protests

We can't wait for Robert Mueller; it will be too late.

We can't hope for the best in the 2018 mid-term; the Republicans will cheat and never allow the Democrats to take either house.

We can't wait for a Democratic Savior for 2020; There isn't one.

We can't waste any more FUCKING energy on Hillary verses Bernie; For God Sakes-LET IT FUCKING GO!

We can't hope some members of the GOP to turn on Trump; it's the ultimate Fraternity of Brothers club, who follow a strict "Code of Silence."

There is only a majority of angry Americans, who instead of being afraid of the government must make the government afraid of the us!

Having said this, I don't know how we start making it happen.

Any ideas????

We'll be getting a lot of practice getting to know each other around here in NC with Irma on the way. Our people, simply put. Most people are human, before they're voters. From the center of Durham on outward.

If Irma doesn't flatten us, we'll find a way. And thank you for this thread!!

Why would protests change the mind of the Republicans who won't allow a Democratic election to be held?

...we have elections to win in 2017, 2018 and 2020. I'm working on them. Since you say they're not winnable, I assume you're not?

"We can't wait for a Democratic Savior for 2020; There isn't one. "

Sounds hopeless to me.

Sometimes condescension is called for.

9. Yes, here's how- Us. You.

The way to do this is to get out on the streets ourselves. Find your local Indivisible. Your local ACLU people power. Your local Democrats- state and national offices.

Find where those groups are protesting. Go.

Go to Democrats offices and say you want to help. Ask what you can do.

Go to your GOP rep's offices with a protest sign. Yourself if you have to. Stay there an hour.

Do one of these things every week. Then post about what you're going to do on Facebook and Twitter. Recruit friends.

This is how people join together and accomplish goals. It starts with OUR actions.

18. Indivisible coords protests (also: Dude, that's your second pessimistic post.)

Be positive. Persist. Resist.

Indivisible coordinates with Moveon and the ACLU to run protests.

The right is telling Dems to give up "it's hopeless! Impossible! Just sit at home and cry!". That's not what people who care about others do. Start small. One action every few days. Find protests on the internet and on facebook.

if anyone needs help finding local action groups - drop a line, or post here and we'll help you.

I'm just responding to the "the sky is falling" message of the OP.

I think there's plenty people can and should do; but they shouldn't do it because of a belief that winning elections is a hopeless endeavor.

(fun fact: I've had personal meetings with the heads of Indivisible, Majority Forward, State Innovation Exchange, DCCC, DGA, DSCC, DLCC.....)

And "I'm on your side, immigrants, and I don't care who knows it."

Buy the shirt. (profits go to the progressive turnout project to make voting easier. That's a good cause.)

Then WEAR the shirt to a protest.

Just do something. Be positive. Persist. Resist.
