Can someone explain what is going on with Senator Menendez of New Jersey?

It's difficult to find much of the story on cable television, it seems?

Is he guilty of taking bribes?

Or is he being attacked by political enemies?

Does anyone know the facts on this case?

bribe is the Senator is expected to use that court case to prove his innocence. The person speaking on the radio explained it this way how the court decided. You get a Rolex from a constituent. That watch was a given because you will cast a vote in an upcoming bill the way the constituent tells you to vote. It is very specific and the way I hear the Menendez case explained never rises to that.

conviction that was overturned by the US Supreme Court. "Honest services" fraud, which has been used to prosecute politicians, was basically killed by that decision.

The Roberts Court has endorsed bribery and shady money as the perfectly legal function of our democracy. So there is no difference between either an R or a D who makes use of system that the US Supreme Court says is OK.

This won't change, not ever, because easy money corrupts everyone and politicians will not kill off their cash cows.
