I am watching the livecast right now, I'm very impressed with both our AG Ferguson AND Governor Inslee--Inslee is pissed! He's calling Trump out all over the place! WOOT!
Ferguson said the end of DACA is part of a dark time for our country.
At a morning news conference in Seattle, Ferguson said a lawsuit would be filed any minute in New York. He called President Donald Trumps decision arbitrary and capricious and asserted that race played a role in the administrations decision to end the program.lf Dreamers were white, does anybody really think the president would have acted on DACA the way he did?
The lawsuit follows Tuesdays announcement by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions that the Trump administration would end DACA, established in 2012 by President Barack Obama to protect people brought into the U.S. illegally as children.
Sessions announced an orderly, lawful wind down over the next six months of the program that gives renewable two-year work permits to qualifying undocumented immigrants. Nationwide, the program offers protection from deportation to 800,000 young people. In Washington state, nearly 18,000 people have been approved as of March.

(15,805 posts)We already know that Trump is willing to lose all the money they bring in, costing the U.S. economy more than $450 billion. But what is it going to cost in manpower, detention, court and legal fees, and the transportation costs to ship them all out?
Just calculating from California, the state with the most DACA residents, JetBlue (a cheap airline) costs $442 for 800,000 people. On do the math, that's $353,600,000 billion, not including any family members.
Is Trump going to hit the US taxpayers up with refunding 800,000 families the cost of their losses in real and personal property? Is he going to compensate them for the fees they've already paid to stay here legally? What about their education costs, if he prevents whem from earning a degree, will Trump compensate them for their expenses and lost income?
So, it becomes a question if Republicans really hate the DACA peopkle badly enough to spend $354 billion on transportation costs alone, just to punish them for the 'crimes' of their parents?
