They actually leave them with the turntable unlocked so they can swivel as the wind direction shifts.

I just imagine one of those spinning arms flying off and doing great damage.

Unlike Miami proper, it's not behind any barrier island but facing the Atlantic without much elevation. I'd hate to lose this jewel of an area. If destroyed, developers will just build large condos in their place.
