Since republicans are unable to speak the truth about climate change, they should just STFU. Republican lies have diverted humongous numbers of people, and possible positive responses. Their lies have endangered America, and continue to endanger America.
Republicans need to hear America: just clam up with the freaking dangerous lies. Stiffle yourselves. Stop it. Just say nothing at all.

(5,101 posts)...Republicans are dangerous in may areas...
I not American but if I were, I wouldn't have much hope they will change.
From what I have seen (maybe I'm wrong), each time they had the power, things got worse inside and outside the country.
I hope Democrats will heal their divides and stand together in front of Republicans.
Hope, change and improvement will come from them.

(14,489 posts)In basic terms, it seems what drives GOP decision making when evaluating an issue is simply the effect on business profitability. All other concerns (human rights, environment, worker pay and safety, etc.) are not factors.
Mainstream voters are totally shielded from this reality, and instead showered with 24/7 layers of unrelated emotion-driven bullshit.
It's been that way for as long as I can remember, back to the 60s when about all you heard from them was Bob Dole on TV regularly bitching about taxes.

(39,343 posts)a neighborhood in an area where a lot of people live. I've got friends in West Palm and family in Riviera Beach which would feel a ton of hurt if the storm bullseyes trump's place.
It's not too terribly funny, especially if you've ever had to shovel out a house that was destroyed by a natural disaster.
How bout we just hope he goes to jail and not wish destruction on a residential area where a lot of people are hunkering down this weekend.
Oh lighten up Francis, you say, but imagine your state is under assault this weekend.

(51,308 posts)These threads calling for destruction are very disappointing to me.
DUers sitting in safety chortling at the possibility an entire area will be destroyed. Smh
It is really not what I had in mind when I shared the meme.
I have seen it as a sarcastic cartoon and a mockery of Trump.
However, it is right, people will be hurt at the same time as Trump. They don't deserve that.
He is a cataclysm on itself and more than enough to not wish more.

(51,308 posts)Just some bloodthirsty folks here have been horrid in the last few days.
Not the toon. It has meaning and is spot on.
I don't understand how someone can wish harm to another
Well, with a notable exception : wishing harm to Trump is not a sin, it is a defensive reaction and (almost) a duty.
syringis
(5,101 posts)I did not mean to hurt or to wish any harm to anyone.
I understand your feelings. Well, we should probably pay more attention before posting something.
I was focused on the sarcasm of the meme.
Please, accept my apologies.

(470 posts)by a hurricane. I lived through two, Hugo in 1989 and Katrina in 2005. Hugo destroyed everything I owned at the time, including my barrier island beach house. These hurricanes are a terrible, frightening experience, and all the misery and problems that come with them are something not to be wished on anyone, no matter how opposed to them politically you may be.
