(20,222 posts)they signify the ignorance of many Americans, where their distorted priorities lie, and that they're not really paying attention to what's going on around them.
That's just my take, but I'm a little on the pessimistic side since last November. I don't see a heck of a lot of good in the American electorate of late. Maybe they're just avid golfers.

Psychologists say many strong conservatives are remarkable for lack of insight into themselves, but they're not the only ones.
Just look what's displayed here every day. A disposition to yammering about political issues doesn't make one wise or knowledgeable. Neither does a disposition for relentless sneering at and disrespect for others. We have no idea what those golfers know except that we certainly should know that they are extremely aware of that amazing fire. That is their home, after all, not just a picture on a screen.
Btw, the Columbia River is between the golf course and the fire. Many hundreds with homes too close had already evacuated. These 3 golfers were finishing what they knew could be their last game on this course, which was closed today.

(28,469 posts)If real, it's not just frickin rethugs that do this "fuck it, I'm rich and am gonna have my fun!" I know a i.n.o. dem who pays more attention to his $2m portfolio than he does to political news. Bought Halliburton stock when pResident Cheney first announced his lie re Iraq. I told him that was blood money.
