But he still offered no definitive word about any U.S. Senate run.
Instead, playing for a high-energy capacity crowd at Van Andel Arena, the metro Detroit-born star worked up a theatrical, rhyming, profanity-filled stump speech of sorts, knocking everything from deadbeat dads to those who take a knee during the national anthem.
The speech was preceded by Hail to the Chief and delivered at a podium with a pair of flag-waving female dancers at his side.
The Grand Rapids, Mich., crowd, many holding aloft smartphones to document the moment, cheered most of Rocks big applause lines as he laid out his views: He applauded single moms but bemoaned those who cant even take care of themselves but keep having kid after ... kid. He blasted those who call me a racist cause Im not (politically correct)', adding that they "think you have to remind me that black lives matter." And then he snarled in colorful language that Nazi bigots and the KKK should stay away.
He neared the end of his speech by saying: "If 'Kid Rock for Senate' has got folks in disarray, wait 'til they hear 'Kid Rock for President of the U.S.A.'!"

Can someone from the FEC kindly give this lunatic a lecture on how elections and campaigns work?

(51,584 posts)There is a good article about him in the latest Rolling Stone. "The former Pink Floyd leader has emerged as perhaps rock's most vocal critic of the president". Todd Rundgren does a pretty good job too in my opinion.
Kid Rock and The Nuge can go fuck off!

(51,584 posts)I saw him twice during the 2013 tour of The Wall and the overall theatrical performance was indescribable. I can not imagine going to one of his show's and being pissed off at him for putting the fake prez's face on the wall or pig and walking out like many have done in the US at Coachella this past fall and continue to do during this year's tour. Don't they know that most of the lyrics of Floyd's albums since Sydney Barrett are anti big business and repressive governments and were written by Roger?

By the way, who goes to see Kid Rock? He's like Ted Nudget without that one song.

To call him a musician is beyond a stretch.
He couldn't play a skin flute.
Maybe he and Jill Stein should hookup, and have some special kids.

(5,914 posts)I don't mind if celebrities want to voice their political opinion on matters. They pay their taxes the same as I do (or maybe not). Anyway, they'll are entitled to their opinions, and I encourage their expression.
But DO NOT. RUN. FOR FUCKING POLITICAL OFFICE. UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU ARE DOING. That means, knowing the very basics about how government works in this nation, including, at the very least, how it's written out in THE GODDAMNED CONSTITUTION. This means having a basic competence in how to organize people to ensure that ACTUAL positive work gets done.
