A New York State Assemblywoman Wants To Rename Donald J. Trump State Park In Honor Of Heather Heyer

If New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D) has it her way, Donald J. Trump State Park will end up being renamed in honor of Heather Heyer, the young woman who died in the white supremacist terror attack in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Rozic has authored a bill that would, if passed, rename the Donald J. Trump State Park in Westchester and Putnam counties as “Heather D. Heyer State Park,” in remembrance of the woman murdered while protesting Donald Trump’s bigoted white nationalist base.

Why change the name? Rozic eloquently explains that Heather Heyer deserves a memorial a whole lot more than Donald Trump does.

“Heather Heyer’s life was taken away by white supremacists who have been emboldened ever since President Trump took office.

“In New York, we continue standing by one another and calling out those who seek to divide us. This activism is not new — it is embedded in our state’s history — and re-naming Donald J. Trump State Park would serve as a reminder of the transformative power it holds to carry us forward.”
In the wake of the terror attack in Charlottesville, Trump defended the Nazi, KKK, and White Nationalist terrorists solely responsible for the terrorism that ensued there, one of whom murdered Heather Heyer.
