At first look, the poster is familiar. It features a man whose head is barely above water, his finger pointed threateningly at the viewer with the message, Someone Talked! It was originally printed by the U.S. government in 1942 as part of a propaganda effort to encourage Americans to support and sacrifice for the war effort against the Nazis.
This week those posters started popping up on light poles and utility boxes around D.C., but with a different message on them: Someone (Donald Trump) Tweeted!
The posters are part of The Sophie Scholl Project, an effort funded by the liberal Creative Majority Political Action Committee and named after the German activist who was tried and executed for treason after engaging in anti-Nazi activities in the 1940s. So far, more than 4,000 of the posters have been wheat-pasted around D.C.

Looks like there was a systematic effort to take most of them down . They were all there one day then gone the next.
The GOP knows.messaging is incredibly important. Dems still haven't learned.

(6,916 posts)3. Trump/GOP knows these are hugely important
Leaving them up would make him look like a loser with his base. Tourists to DC might see them. The press might cover them.
So there was what looks like a coordinated effort to take them down.

(17,003 posts)6. Those are great!
We should get some bots of our own and blast them all over the Internet. Then start in on merchandise, hats, t-shirts, coffee cups etc. and use that money to pay for billboards all over the country, especially in red states.
