Some of the cars already abandoned along highways were left there on purpose. I saw a story this morning that said people are parking cars on elevated roads and bridges in hope of avoiding having them flooded. A multi-level parking garage? OK On roads and bridges needed for evacuation? Selfish idiots.

He works for a medical facility and they are evacuating staff and patients to Orlando, from Delray Beach. Said he'd call when he got there; hasn't yet. Worried sick. From the maps the wind might be as bad in Orlando but it's a lot further from the ocean. He is driving a company car, left his car at his girlfriend's place in Boca Raton, a few miles further inland than where he lives (Lake Worth).

With clients and co-workers (including his girlfriend). The wind will be bad but it's not near the ocean.

Yes, you want to hear your son's voice, but a text lets you know just as effectively, takes up far less bandwidth, and leaves channels clearer for first responders. Best wishes and highest thoughts that all works out for him.
