Have a coworker who just got out of Miami

She's a consultant (Lives in FL and works at various places up/down the east coast). She had booked her regular flight, and verified as soon as they started talking evacuation and a strong FL hit. She got a call 2 days ago saying they oversold her flight and she wasn't getting out. This was American Airlines. She finally did get on a flight from Miami to Dallas to Philly after they added another 8-10 flights out.

There should be a law against "overselling".

Yes the overselling doesn't account for this sort of situation. The cruise lines? Oh boy that is bad.

is on a Caribbean cruise at this moment. Last I heard from him was Tuesday, and he was in Haiti. Looked on his Facebook just now, and he said he was in Cozumel, so they were probably re-routed. He doesn't know when he will return or in what condition his house will be in. He lives near Boynton Beach.
