It's such a huge storm, what force will make it change direction?

(14,565 posts)I'm still worried it will turn back toward southeast Florida.
Tonight I'm driving to Orlando. It's possible I could get hit worse there than by staying in Miami.

(32,681 posts)the storm surge is what will f*ck things up for most of Florida, regardless of the specific path. If that makes sense.

(25,183 posts)Over the last day or so, every time I've seen a storm track, it gets more and more westerly. Yes, there are a lot of educated guesses about where it will go, but they're still guesses. Right now, I think the eastern shore of Florida will not have as severe a situation as I thought they would two days ago.
I don't think it will go as far as Texas or Louisiana, but Alabama and Mississippi folks should be at least a bit fearful.
