All in all, though, none of this makes it an alt-right hate site. If I picked out a few of the posts here advocating, or at least supporting or excusing violence against conservatives, would it be accurate to call this a hate site? Of course not.

If you truly feel this is the case, though, you should take it up with Skinner and demand he shut the site down.

48. It is a site the admins here started as the "all political views allowed" equivalent of here

but basically the same format.

There have been a few right wing 'shadow' sites of DU that other people have set up over the years, based around a few people who just denounced what they read on DU - often with childish names (such as "dimocrat" - 'Democrats are dim', see?). So when Discussionist was announced here, they saw the announcements and joined up. Some DUers joined too, but nearly everyone there who was too right wing to be allowed here was also a mouth-breathing moron and/or bigot, and there's very little point in spending time talking to people like that.

So very few DUers have kept on posting there. And that means the juries are dominated by the morons, which makes it very difficult to get bigoted posts removed. I suspect the standard of conversation is so low that conservatives who are capable of talking without bigotry are also put off, even if they're not concerned with talking about DU.
