Best Buy has stopped selling security software from Russian firm

Best Buy on Friday stopped selling internet security software made by a Russian company amid outside concerns that Kaspersky Lab could have links to the Russian government, a source familiar with the matter told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

The newspaper reported that the decision was prompted by many reasons including congressional testimony raising questions about Moscow-based Kaspersky, a respected cyber security firm.

Richfield, Minn.-based retailer has not conducted its own investigation but felt there were too many unanswered questions and decided to discontinue selling the products, according to the Star-Tribune.

Best Buy confirmed to the Star-Tribune that it has stopped selling the products, but didn't comment further.

There is at least one company in Washington State who has all their software designed in Russia.
eAcceleration.com There is probably others. Just look for AV software that is sold on late night TV.
