as well as the VI. Then agaion, we often pay attention to Cuba because those mountains are usually what slows down the cat 4 and 5 ones.

Is our government being so pissy that they will not allow any attention given to Cuba and Mexico. Probably not the case but I would not be shocked if they did.

It helps a bit if you can understand Spanish.

Death toll in Mexico is 61. They expect it to go higher when they get to the more remote villages in Chiapas. Pictures show high rise buildings toppled over on their sides. Looks bad.

Cuba takes care of their people. There will likely be pictures of coastal destruction tomorrow.

to inform people in Florida. And get them to get to a safe place. Irma has swung West from earlier predictions. Good that both sides of Florida are glued to the news.

Are you familiar with the relative level of development along the northern coastline of Cuba?

Do you suppose US tv networks have satellite trucks handy that they can park near high rise hotels in order to get out to that coast, report live during landfall, and have appropriate shelter?

Cuba and Mexico and help them with their tragedies beside our own.

The US, Cuba and Mexico are going through devastation caused by nature. Maybe it could bring us together a bit.

...would you expect to get live news video during the hurricane in Cuba?

It's not as if Cubans are glued to TV sets to see reporters in windbreakers holding soggy microphones next to satellite broadcasting trucks in front of large luxury hotels all along the coast.

So is the idea that US networks have satellite trucks they can teleport in, or is it that the Cubans have a fleet of them sitting around for rent?

This had some before/after pics that gives some insight to what happened on some of the islands
http://veriy.com/10-horrifying-photos-that-reveal-how-bad-hurricane-irma-truly-is/

I'm in Barbados and we got some of Harvey, Irma and Jose but all tropical storm level so we were lucky. Harvey was the worst here in terms of flooding.

We were concerned about people we know in the Bahamas because they were to get a 20 foot storm surge which will put most of those islands under water. We have not heard from friends in British Virgin Islands who got hammered with category 4 Jose today after category 5 Irma earlier this week. When I heard Trumps $16mil-28 mil house in or near BVI got demolished, I could not muster any sympathy.
