These are normally short-lived - but some are persisting as long-track storms.

The Weather Nation dudes say that is unusual for a tropical system.

And everyone in the Southeast had better brace for her offshoots - mostly tornadoes. malaise, you're pretty much our expert here - how about Jose and Katia (I hate Mexico getting hit after a damn earthquake - I LIVE in earthquake country and yech.)
