People like me don't do the hero-worship thing. Ever. I wanted Hillary for president both because she was a good choice who mostly shares my principles and goals and because she was the only competent, prepared choice available to people anxious to protect and advance the America we inherited from those who came before.

I never thought of us during the election as the heart and conscience of America, but, given the dreadful leaders corrupting other Americans to very different political ends, that has fallen to us. We are the ones.
