Briefly a couple of people out on the beach spotted two manatees stranded by retreating waters. They tried to move them themselves but couldn't, so they posted pics and asked for help. Got thousands of responses/shares and somebody let the wildlife people know (whatever they call that dept in Florida). Several rangers showed up with tarps, everybody rolled the manatees on to them and then they dragged them out to deeper water. They both swam away just fine.
Heroes all around, IMO.
