CNN still thinks that unless they show someone being battered by hurricane winds - over and over and over and over and over and over again - no one will know what they're talking about.

There are long lines of people who'd love to have these jobs.

If I were inclined to blame anyone for sending dozens of camera crews to report from storms, which I'm not, I'd choose the viewers. It's all about serving us up in big numbers for advertisers. If we "vote" with our remotes and tell them why, it'll change.

forget the poor people who are losing their homes, forget the pets that have tied to trees, forget the property damage and lives ruined. forget about the first responders risking their lives.

We want to watch asshole reporters earn their paychecks by doing very stupid things during massive destruction brought on by climate change (which will go unsaid).

We want to see flying objects, the bigger the better.

We want to see flooded streets, the more raging the better.

We want to see collapsed buildings, the more damaged the better.

people are a side note, they are removed from the psyche purposely.

this is the new porn.

like homer simpson once commented about something bad happening to someone else, "it's funny because it's not me".

for most of the nation, people sat glued to their TV's, some out of true concern for loved ones they have in the way of these storms, but for the vast majority? they want to see cool shit get destroyed then move on, and forget about it later when the bodies are recovered.

we are a disgusting species.
