it's time to call the republican party what it is -- the white supremacist party

ever since nixon, they played a game of running a business conservative and giving the wink-and-nod to the bigots, the white supremacists, the sexists, the racists, etc.

often they would give them some red meat speech and election-year issue, greedily take their votes, then go back to pursuing their business conservative agenda. they didn't completely ignore them, and they certainly did damage to civil rights and such, but their primary agenda was pro-business, deregulation, tax cuts, etc.

with donnie that has been turned on its head. donnie was a white supremacist candidate, he ran a white supremacist campaign, and he's a white supremacist president with a white supremacist agenda. he occasionally throws the business conservative community some red meat and talks about tax cuts or whatever, but the primary agenda is the white supremacist agenda.

don't get me wrong, donnie's happy to get a tax cut, too; just as most republicans previously were happy to see civil rights curtailed. it's just a matter of priorities and emphasis.

here in the northeast, i know plenty of people who honestly do not want to be seen as bigots. they've been able to vote for republicans for ages because of the wink-and-nod arrangement that let them insist that republicans were all about business and the bigotry thing was just a silly play for a few extra votes from some other fringe group.

no longer. the republican party needs to be known as the white supremacist party. we have to call it like it is.

other than the GOP there is no alternative for pro-business/low-tax voters. No matter what name you call them, they will still vote GOP, but will hate you all the more for the name-calling. Look at what calling people "deplorables" did for Secretary Clinton. Didn't discourage anyone, but offended a lot of reasonable people who saw it as her "47% moment."

3. no, it'll fracture them in two.

right now, their unholy alliance between white supremacists and business conservatives is enough to have control of all three branches of government. we have to split them up.

the "deplorables" thing didn't fare well for hillary because of media crap. during the campaign, they were more interested in playing into the cheap-shot narrative of white supremacist faux-martyrdom and denying hillary any reasonable chance to follow it up.

if we're allowed enough time to turn it into a narrative of our own, it will stick. not only is it the truth, but it's a hell of a story. mild-mannered party overtaken by evil fringe elements!

That's why I've been registered as a Democratic Party member since I was 18.

Wanting lower and middle income folks to pay less taxes so they can purchase my products and services makes good sense to me.

Don't give them that much ground - if it's good enough for Mr. Soros - then it's good enough for me!

still voting for bigots. Anyone who votes for a racist is not a reasonable person.

5. I think we should classify them more carefully.

There are Republicans who are racists and/or believe in dominance. We should separate them fro those who know how to act civilly. I realize these are few, but they deserve to be acknowledged. Besides, divide and conquer.

6. actually, i think we should challenge them to either retake their party or create a new one.

i think it is exactly the ones who know how to act civilly who we must reach. we must not let them stay comfortable in an overtly white supremacist republican party.

they need to either kick the bigots out or leave themselves and form a new party without the bigots!

I haven't heard one cogent argument that flies in the face of Coats thesis. He, sadly, put it all on the table..the ugly truth.
