Russian politician Vyacheslav Nikonov, a member of the Duma, said U.S. "intelligence missed it when Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States." He made the remarks on a Russian panel show, "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov."
The episode centered on the U.S.' diminishing power on the world stage and the resulting chaos, The Hill reports. University of Virginia professor Allen Lynch told The Hill that Nikonov's statement was directed at the idea that the U.S. must be losing power if it can't uphold the integrity of its own electoral system.
Julia Davis, who monitors Russian media, first noted the comments on her Twitter account last night.

Yesterday, independent Russian publisher Novaya Gazeta, founded by Mikhail Gorbachev with funds from his Nobel Peace Prize, reported that in early December 2016, FSB agent Sergei Mikhailov was arrested, dragged out of a meeting with a bag over his head, and has not been seen or heard from since. Rachel Maddow reports that Mikhailov was also charged with treason. Then, Ruslan Stoyanov a high-level cybersecurity official with a private firm, was arrested on suspicion of treason, as reported by USA Today.

And those were people who were working for Putin to rig the election too. Or they were American agents

(16,423 posts)WADA has basically accused of Russia using their national anti-doping agency for spreading doping among russian athletes. They allege that the russian doping is systematic and government-sanctioned and controlled.
The russian anti-doping chief resigns.
It would be very embarassing if he were to admit that the russian government is systematically doping athletes.
And then an oopsie happens:

Just the other day I read about a russian business-man living in exile in London who was on Moscow's hit-list.
He was afraid of heights and commited suicide by jumping out of a tiny window head-first...
Or the lawyer of Magnitsky, who dropped out of a window while plumbers were installing a new bathtub in his apartment. He died right before an important day in court that would have been very embarassing for very powerful and very corrupt people...
Or how about Magnitsky himself, who revealed a massive tax-embezzlement scheme by russian government officals, got framed by corrupt cops for the crime he had uncovered, and then was beaten to death in jail.
