"What REALLY Happened: This Is Way Bigger Than Just Hillary and Trump and Russia"

"What REALLY Happened: This Is Way Bigger Than Just Hillary and Trump and Russia"
"Hillary Clinton’s book What Happened is triggering a lot of Pavlovian responses, including Hillary Rage, the Bernie Bro reflex, the media’s Clinton Derangement Syndrome etc. etc. Diesirae has a diary about how Hillary has never been allowed to speak her mind, but has always been subject to a different set of rules. It’s not merely the constant and deliberate demonization coming from the right, it’s also wrapped up with a fair amount of misogyny and other things from all sides. (To hear Hillary in her own words, there’s an interview Jane Pauley did with her on CBS Sunday Morning.)

Regardless of that, it’s critically important to understand what DID happen. This is about more than Hillary Clinton.

Any Democratic candidate would and will find themselves facing a long running campaign that’s been systematically stacking the deck for decades. That back story is not getting the attention it demands, which is only natural considering the problems of the moment: North Korea, Hurricanes, Repeal & Replace, etc. etc. The Trump presidency may be a national disaster that will take years — if ever — to recover from (if the nation does...) BUT… it didn’t happen overnight or even in the course of one campaign.

A well-qualified candidate with plenty of funding won the popular vote by a margin of nearly 3 million — yet a morally degenerate con man not only ended up in the White House, he arrived with a Congress now under one party control, and a judiciary being skewed to perpetuate that situation. Poll after poll shows a majority of Americans reject the policies Republicans are pushing; reality keeps showing that their policies don’t work to do what they promise — yet they keep getting elected. That’s the story that needs to be followed up. We are well and truly screwed if we don’t and do not respond effectively."

American voters are by getting what they want. The system is fucked and it's not the DNC.

In straight up voting - numbers-only us vs. them, the GOP will lose because they don't have the numbers.
That's why they're always looking for ways to "game" the system or otherwise cheat.

That's why they're always harping about voter registration, poll IDs on election days, redrawing district lines (gerrymandering), and the BIG ONE is the computerized voting machines. Everything they've done for the last 30+ years has been rigging in one form or another. We Democrats were looking the other way, not paying attention, but now we see the results and it's way too late.

The Republicans are un-American and they've violated the democratic spirit of the US Constitution repeatedly.
This is how the cheaters win, and keep on winning until we go to work and take away all this rigging. It won't be easy!

Representative democracy as first envisioned by Aristotle does not exist in the United States. We have minority rule, even with Democrats in power in both houses and the presidency, a minority senator form a small state can paralyze the will of the people. As Shakespeare's Marcellus famously said in Hamlet, "Something is rotten in the State of Denmark." This can only end with a constitutional convention that restructures the way we're governed.

Because at this point, I'm afraid it would result in a fascistic ruling order being imposed even more quickly than is the case now.

With off shore money laundries in play it result in arm bands and jack boots . Maybe the alternatives are pitchforks, torches and rope or guillotines and head baskets.
Right now we have a government of paid off hacks doing the will of the highest bidders.

legislative proposals but, they never really campaign on them or their records. They campaign with a heavy barrage of fear. You know, God, guns, immigrants, homosexuals, abortions (save those babies!) and just in case you aren't swayed by any of those so important wedge issues you aren't patriotic enough. And no one wants to be accused of not being patriotic!
Until voters in flyover areas of this country start voting like thinking human beings and not like RWNJ automatons it won't change anytime soon.
