Do you think that they realize that if government services were cut back - because big government is bad - how they would be able to cope with the destruction and rebuilding of their respective areas.
That would require thinking. They will likely learn that were it not for the huge deficits caused by Dems, State and Fed government w/b better able to respond to these emergencies ... from their usual sources of course. Oh, and that it's all irrelevant anyway because these hurricanes are God's will.

(12,265 posts)Sarcasm... They see government help for them as reasonable. At least that is how it is here in Oklahoma when a tornado hits.
When "others" need help it is "welfare."
But they are "worthy" of help
They are a lost cause. I have some hope that independents and non-voters may be motivated. Texas has pathetic turnout, giving dedicated Republicans disproportionate influence. That's where we should focus, IMO.

(25,111 posts)Government is still bad and too big. Since GOPer's suffered the "most" (in their minds), they deserve the majority of the cha ching, but still hate taxes.

That is how they separate this out as crazy as it is.
