MSNBC anchor Tur on moment Trump won: 'I can feel the bile in the back of my throat'

BY JOE CONCHA - 09/13/17 08:41 AM EDT

MSNBC anchor Katy Tur said her stomach churned and she felt bile in her throat upon learning Donald Trump had won the 2016 presidential election, also stating the Republican candidate had "endangered her life" at campaign rallies.

Tur recalled her feelings in her new book, "Unbelievable," released Tuesday. "The room goes wavy. My stomach churns,” Tur says. “I can feel the bile in the back of my throat.

“I’ve heard him insult a war hero, brag about grabbing women by the pussy, denigrate the judicial system, demonize immigrants, fight with the pope, doubt the democratic process, advocate torture and war crimes, tout the size of his junk in a presidential debate, trash the media, and endanger my life,” Tur continued.

Tur, 33, adds she fears Trump will be in office 27 years from now at age 98 because he'll find a way to avoid term limits which say presidents can only serve two terms. "Does anyone really believe he’ll respect term limits? I have a vision of myself at sixty, Trump at a hundred, in some midwestern convention hall. The children of his 2016 supporters are spitting on me,” Tur writes.

If he could do so without shame or scandal.

Not sure which to brace for: it he going to appoint himself Dictator For Life? Or is he going to flee at the first opportunity?

I believe that she meant it as "without negative impact upon his brand."

She was on NPR's Fresh Air yesterday and was terrific overall. She certainly ain't a fan of the Resident Chump.

Who's supposed to support Trump on this?

The Republicans?
Will the Republicans really get rid of term-limits to tie themselves even closer to the out-of-control, old-age dementia, narcissist, GOP-bashing, back-stabbing gaffe-machine???

2. I learned yesterday that Tur doesn't vote

Nominally she claims that it's to preserve her objectivity, but it seems to me that the most basic sense of professionalism or integrity would enable her to vote while still reporting objectively. A cashier can up-sell the large fries even if she personally doesn't like fries, for instance.

By default, a neutral (e.g., non-voting) party sides with the aggressor (Trump).

involved in the discussion. If you do not vote keep your mouth shut. Katie was by no means neutral, and her argument is without merit. By her logic all journalists should give uo the right to vote in order to remain neutral.

She clearly doesn't favor a Trump presidency, to the pretense of neutrality is clearly dishonest. I believe that she doesn't vote, and I believe that she believes that she doesn't vote in order to preserve her neutrality, but that's garbage.

George Carlin famously didn't vote, and he wouldn't shut up about not voting, because claimed moral superiority in so doing. That's crap, and it has led to a shit-ton of assholes making the same bullshit claim.

Welcome to DU by the way!
