The 45 million raised last night, while impressive, will only buy 40 miles of roads. Will cover the overtime the electrical workers (20,000) will be paid. For about a month. Will pay for ONE bridge.

What about the uninsured?

in my opinion - the money raised last night should go to the people that have been devastated by Harvey and Irma - more specifically - the uninsured. They are the ones that are going to need that money the most. I only hope the powers that be - that helped organize and raise the money last night - see it that way too.

tax money should be put to work for the people no questions asked. I find it amazing that money needs to be "appropriated" for disaster relief. The haphazard nature of politicians being dicks because of their scumbag tendencies makes it all ridiculous.

Money raised for hurricane relief should probably go to help those that can't afford, or wait, for the rebuild to happen. Lots of people have probably lost work because the place they worked for is gone or low enough priority that it will be among the last things rebuilt. They are going to need the extra help, and like you said, I hope the Hurricane Relief see it that way as well.
