On Rachel. At first it made me so angry I couldn't see straight with the campaign clips from this miserable POS we have as president attacking Katy Tur over and over and over again (why do we have to see so many clips of the shitgibbon bully doing this?). Then she came on with Rachel and showed so much class and courage in the face of drumpf and his awful supporters by overlooking the treatment and continued to do her job. That's what she told Rachel: "Journalists here and in Russia have to continue to do their job."
Just an impressive person and journalist.

(16,104 posts)As aggravating as it is, Katy Tur and a number of other reporters "reported" even as Trump directly demonized them.
The corporate M$M may have "directed" the networks' legitimizing of Trump as a viable candidate, but many of the reporters merely did their job.
I can't fault them for that.

(22,765 posts)On the contrary, if the facts tell you Trump is an asshole, that's what you should report. But then I guess it depends on what you mean by neutral. I have seen the press remain far too "neutral" over the last 20 years or so, resulting in a false equivalency that helped Trump's to get elected. Objective doesn't necessarily mean neutral. But its easy to get tangled up in the semantics of this.

(4,833 posts)Stop substituting neutrality for objectivity. Neutrality is when Trump says both groups in Charlottesville were responsible. Any journalist who uses neutrality shows me their stupidity.

"When Fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

(7,402 posts)Why wasn't this covered in MSM while it was unfolding. While very interesting, now is too late. Was Katy Tur reporting this at the time only to have that footage cut out or was she too intimidated to being reporting it back then. We need answers to MSM's role in supporting the Trump candidacy from the very beginning.

(28,151 posts)During the election I heard reporters on NPR giggling about how so many collegues have turned Trump into a cottage industry. heee heee Isn't it fun getting rich off stuffing that nazi down our throuat??
I really can't drum up much sympathy for any of them. They will just have to find comfort in their piles of filthy lucre.
Fuck 'em.
