There will be enough GOPers to get it done. The hard core xenophobes won't go for it, but a fair number of GOPers will, because the main reason they opposed it in the first place was because Obama created it by EO. If they get to legislate it themselves and the majority of the public supports it, they'll do it.

DACA was working fine.

Did he not see a problems coming.

Now he suddenly sees he should have left it alone.

I smell a rat.

Not saying that is why for Trump, but it is a fact for DACA enrollees.

I bet that there were thousands that never enrolled because they were concerned that it was an EO.

Will Trump give them the vote?

Why are they being left in a legal limbo.

This country is all they know.

Either leave DACA alone or fix it better.

Trump wanted to kick them out.

Now he is trying to make a deal with the house and senate.

I know a DACA kid.

Now a young woman.

With her own kids.

Served in the Navy.

She is really upset.

Taking a guess

- window for eligibility to be closed, something like arrival by 2018
- window for application to be closed by 2040
- a more comprehensive and ongoing disqualification including no fly list, domestic violence, crimes committed as a minor, with an appeal process, meaning if you are enrolled, but are charged with domestic violence for example, you are out
- citizenship after successful enrollment for an extended period, maybe 18 years, starting whenever you enrolled, even if it was prior to Trump.

And that the program will close around 2050, with the goal being to enroll all who are qualified by that date.

All of course tied to border security funding and some other pork.
