A U.S. Marine is getting the boot after he was arrested for hanging a white supremacist banner

The banner, which can be seen in the video below, read “He who controls the past controls the future.” Next to the slogan were the letters “YWNRU”, which stands for “You will not replace us.” That’s the same chant white supremacists were chanting, along with “Jews will not replace us,” during the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He wrote performance reports on should look at their records. Upgrades may be warrented.

At least there will be one less racist Staff NCO deciding on training opportunities, duty assignments and schedules - I'm willing to bet a paycheck that his white Marines were consistantly rated higher by this scabby fuckstick

Less than 2% of Other than Honorable (OTH) discharges are ever upgraded, and close to zero Bad Conduct (BCD) or Dishonorable discharges get upgraded.

You have to be able to show gross negligence or misconduct on the part of the discharge authority. In the case of an OTH, the authority is a Flag Officer. For a BCD or Dishonorable, the authority is a General or Special Court Martial.

Sorry, but this stuff was part of my job for 30 years in the Navy.

We used to call folks that told someone their discharge would be upgraded "Sea Lawyers"

He is probably going to get a General Under Honorable Conditions discharge, unless they take him to CO's Mast if he's at a Navy command, or Office Hours if at a USMC command.

A General or OTH are non punitive, or non judicial.

Thanks for letting me relive my glorious UCMJ days

I was always under the impression that unless it was a dishonorable, you could get it altered after a couple years. Ah well. Don't be a turd, I suppose! Maybe I'm thinking of administrative separations. Who knows.

I never cared for the "They did something awful, so they're no longer a Marine. They're an ex-Marine" sentiment. The Marine Corps, like all branches has it's share of bad people. To suggest that someone isn't really a Marine by virtue of their poor character and actions is silly to me. It perpetuates this idea that we're infallible, when in fact the Corps is just a cross section of society at large. Many Marines are sacks of shit, and many are close to living saints. There's a whole lot in between. I often hear this in regards to Lee H.Oswald. "He's an ex-Marine" and so on. He's not. He was just a Marine that also happened to be a piece of shit.

To clarify, I'm not strictly saying this is what you said, or implied, but it seemed to be in the same vein. It reminded me of my thought on the matter anyway. If that wasn't your specific meaning, don't take it the wrong way.

If you stepped off Parris Island or MCRD San Diego with an EGA, you are are Marine. Period. In perpetuum. This deal does not expire and is valid at all locations, see Chesty Puller for details.

These wannabe Nazis need to read their history.

The Greeks, Romans, Persians, Chinese, English, French, and Spanish all held empires. Some even ruled the world for hundreds of years.

Germans tried and failed three times.
